We are already experiencing impacts from climate change as a result of global warming, including deadly heat waves, extreme weather events, and threats to life on earth.
Planting trees is the one of the most effective ways to combat climate change.
#PlantED is a global tree planting initiative aiming to plant more than 1M trees by October 2019, as part of the Climate Action project.
We aim to have participants in 100 countries.
Fact:
One acre of new forest can sequester about 2.5 tons of carbon annually.
1 tree will absorb on average around 24 kg (53 pounds) per year.
Across 100 countries students planted 1.146.057 trees as part, which equals 27.505.368 kg (60.741.021 lbs) carbon dioxide absorption
